Double Date Sunset Sailing

Between the sun setting later and later, consistent winds in the 10-15mph range, and mother nature’s determination to make each night’s sunset more spectacular than the last, June has been a great month of sailing. Sailing dates are quality dates, because there is no time for cell phones or other distractions. People actually get to know one another, out there away from all the distractions. Life under sail is serene.

Tonight the boys decided to double date for a sunset sail. There was a good breeze for the first hour, which made for good sailing at about 15 mph. We sailed up past the American Fork marina and river outlet. They don’t get sailboats along the beach there very often, and it’s always fun to see people grabbing their cameras to get a shot of us sailing in front of the setting sun.
